Terms & Conditions
The Melon Mobile 30-Day Free Trial (“the Offer”) provides eligible customers with:
The Offer is valid for a period of 30 consecutive days from SIM activation, at no charge, subject to these Terms & Conditions.
2.1 The Offer is available exclusively to new Melon Mobile customers who have not previously activated a Melon SIM or eSIM.
2.2 The Offer is limited to one free trial per customer.
2.3 Customers must be South African residents and successfully complete RICA verification.
3.1 Customers are required to pay a once-off SIM activation fee of R5.
3.2 A delivery fee of R30 applies to all physical SIM cards delivered.
3.3 Successful RICA registration, via the Melon Mobile App or website, is mandatory before activation.
4.1 The Melon Mobile service operates on the MTN network and is subject to network availability and coverage.
4.2 “Unlimited” calls and SMS are subject to Melon Mobile’s Fair Use Policy (FUP) and are intended for personal, private use only.
4.3 Melon Mobile reserves the right to manage, restrict, suspend, or terminate services where usage exceeds fair or reasonable limits or is deemed abusive.
The Offer does not include:
6.1 The Offer does not constitute a fixed-term contract.
6.2 Customers are not obligated to continue with a paid plan after the trial period.
7.1 Upon expiry of the 30-day trial period, the customer will automatically be placed on a monthly 5GB Unlimited Plan.
7.2 If the customer wishes to terminate their Melon Mobile plan, they may do so on or before the 30-day trial period has elapsed.
7.3 The customer may choose to move to a higher plan during the trial period, which will activate at the end of the trial period.
8.1 All decisions by Melon Mobile regarding eligibility and interpretation of these Terms & Conditions shall be final.
8.2 Melon Mobile reserves the right to amend, suspend, or withdraw this Offer at any time without prior notice.
8.3 Standard Melon Mobile Terms & Conditions, Fair Use Policy, and Privacy Policy apply.
8.4 Fair Use Policy (FUP): “Unlimited” services (calls and texts) are subject to a Fair Use Policy to prevent commercial or non-personal abuse of the network. If usage exceeds FUP limits, Melon Mobile reserves the right to engage with the customer, migrate them to an alternative package, or disconnect services.
