Melon Mobile “GigADay” Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 11 September 2025
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern the use of Melon Mobile’s “GigADay” product and are further subject to Melon’s: Terms of Use and Privacy Policy which may be reviewed here www.melonmobile.co.za. By purchasing or using this product, you further agree to the following terms.
2. Product Overview
GigADay provides Melon Mobile customers with a valid Melon SIM or eSIM, with either 0.5GB or 1GB of mobile Data per day for a specified number of consecutive days, based on the selected plan:
- 500MB a day for 30 days at R149 per month (15Gb Total).
- 1GB a day for 30 days at R299 per month (30Gb Total).
3. Activation & Validity
- GigADay plans activate immediately upon successful purchase and run for the specified number of consecutive days (30 days).
- Each day’s GB allocation is only valid from 00:00 (midnight) to 23:59 on the same day.
- Unused Data does not roll over to the next day and will be forfeited if not used within the given 24-hour period.
- A new GB allocation is provided at 00:00 each day for the duration of the plan.
4. Usage & Fair Use Policy
- The daily GB allocation is for standard mobile Data usage only.
- Melon Mobile reserves the right to manage network resources to ensure fair usage and quality service for all users.
- Melon will use all reasonable endeavours to provide the Service uninterrupted, however it makes no commitment in this regard due to potential capacity limitations on the network that may be beyond its control.
5. Pricing & Payments
- The full amount for the selected plan is payable upfront.
- Prices include VAT and are subject to change at Melon Mobile’s discretion.
- No refunds or cancellations will be granted once a plan is activated.
6. Eligibility & Restrictions
- Available to all Melon Mobile customers, who are natural persons, and reserved for their private and personal usage. May not be used for business or commercial use in any manner – specifically, the services may not be used for any machine-to-machine SIMS and devices, APN SIM cards, community services SIMS/phone numbers, bulk data applications, spamming or call centres.
- Existing Melon Mobile customers can “update Plan” on the Melon Mobile App to change to GigADay Plans.
- Cannot be used for international roaming.
- Days will run consecutively and may not be interrupted.
- Data may not be transferred and may only be used in a mobile phone by a natural person.
7. Termination & Modifications
- Melon Mobile reserves the right to modify or discontinue the GigADay product at any time with reasonable notice.
- Any abuse or misuse of the product may result in suspension or termination of services without refund.
